Initial Setup for Node MKI

Getting started with Node MKI and Meshtastic is easy and simple! Just follow the steps below and you’ll be off the grid in no time.

What You'll Need:

  • Node MKI device
  • USB Type-C cable (for charging/power)
  • Smartphone (Android or iOS)
  • Meshtastic mobile application

Step 1: Install Meshtastic App

  • Download the Meshtastic application from your device's app store:
  • Google Play Store (Android)
  • Apple App Store (iOS)
  • Install and open the application

Step 2: Connect to Your Node MKI

  • Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone
  • Power on Node MKI
  • On the connection tab tap "Scan"
  • Select your device
  • Pair by typing the code displayed on the screen of Node MKI

Step 3: Basic Configuration

  • Set your Region to European Union 868MHz
  • Go to "Channels"
  • Create or join a channel
  • Recommended Modem Preset: LONG_FAST

Step 4: Test Connection

  • Have another Node MKI or any other Meshtastic device join the same channel
  • Exchange messages to test connection
